Houston Attractions
There are actually many Houston attractions. When I first moved here, I really did not like the city. Not sure why, but it grew on me. I took the time to give it a chance and check out what it has to offer and there are actually plenty. Although I travel quite a bit :-).

Houston, TX USA – San Jacinto Monument View
Over the years, there’s been updates and additions and also removal of attractions. People are still upset about Six Flags Over Texas leaving.
Here’s some information about free things to do in Houston.
You can use the Houston City Pass or a tour company like Viator to help. I’ve included some Viator Tours below.
Let’s take a look in a little more detail at what the city has to offer.
- Downtown Aquarium
- Houston Parks
- Houston Police Department Memorial – Although this is not an attraction, its worth seeing as its an amazing piece of architecture that honors the men and women police officers especially those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.It is located in the Buffalo Bayou Park. You can walk to this monument from downtown Houston or you can drive and Park in the limited parking spaces by the monument.I recommend walking as it is quite a beautiful park with a view of the city.
- Houston Zoo
- Museum District
- San Jacinto Monument
- Space City Houston
